Traffic Portfolio Risk Score
Enter your monthly traffic mix to measure channel concentration on a transparent 0–100 scale. The calculation runs in your browser and does not send your data anywhere.
How the score works
The raw Herfindahl-style index adds the square of each channel share. Squaring makes a large channel count more heavily than several small channels.
Raw HHI = Σ(channel share2)
Risk score = ((HHI − 1/7) / (1 − 1/7)) × 100
Shares are decimals in the formula. With seven channels, 1/7 is the lowest possible HHI when traffic is split equally. Normalization maps that equal split to 0 and a one-channel portfolio to 100.
50 / 20 / 10 / 10 / 5 / 3 / 2
HHI = 0.502 + 0.202 + 0.102 + 0.102 + 0.052 + 0.032 + 0.022
HHI = 0.3138, or 3,138 on a 0–10,000 scale
Normalized score = ((0.3138 − 0.1429) / 0.8571) × 100 = 19.9, rounded to 20
Risk tier thresholds
These thresholds are a Polytraffic design choice for this assessment. They are not presented as industry benchmarks or empirical predictions.
Balanced
Low concentration across the seven channel buckets.
Moderate
A channel is beginning to shape portfolio exposure.
High
The portfolio depends heavily on a limited traffic base.
Critical
One channel accounts for most concentration exposure.
